Netbooks

A netbook (internet, notebook) is typically a small laptop computer designed for ‘light’ usage, for example document manipulation and accessing the internet. Netbooks are less powerful than laptops and it has no optical drive, but this makes it ideal for portability due to the small size and weight.

As more manufacturers have entered the market netbooks have become much more affordable, and generally cost much less than laptops. Most netbooks are sold with either Windows XP or a variant of Linux, rather than Vista which is a lot more resource-intensive.
